Western Sydney University concluded study tour in Hong Kong

16 students and one faculty from Western Sydney University concluded their two-week study tour in Hong Kong and South China. The group had arrived in the vertical city early January 2016. The group had exclusive interactions and insights from prominent business professionals, professors and experts in manufacturing. The sector is undergoing major changes with the need for innovation, and the implementation of the “One Belt, One Road’ Policy coming from Beijing.


The group visited Li & Fung headquarters in Lai Chi Kok, Memorigin which is reviving the ‘Made in Hong Kong’ production of luxury watches, world famous ‘Lee Kum Kee’, the last manufacturer based in Hong Kong, Qualidux, Jetta, as well as visits of HKSTP startups ecosystem, Shenzhen. The group also met Dr. Thomas Chan of Hong Kong Polytechnic and James Wong, President of Institute of Energy in Hong Kong.
